CAS(E) this Sketch #287

Welcome to CAS(E) this Sketch #287....... and an amazing design created by Brian King! Such a perfectly crisp and clean look that can be interpreted in SO many ways. You'll surely find lots of inspiration from the DT, so please take a peek and then play along!
Clearly, I've not followed this sketch too precisely..... a mere suggestion for my little brain to interpret. But, I had to incorporate this delicate and lovely Pinkfresh Studio die (borrowed from my stamper friend, Karen!), which is done in shades of gray, with a pop of Hawaiian Shores.
As always, there's a fabulous array of wonderfully designed creations from the DT crew, so be sure to take look and then join us at CTS #287. Can't wait to see what you've created!

Papertrey Ink's Throwback Thursday - 'Flipping Out'

THROWBACK THURSDAY - flipping out

Oh happy day....... it's time for Papertrey Ink's Throwback Thursday feature! This week Dawn, Lizzie and I will be sharing projects showcasing the happy Flipping Out stamps and dies.
The adorable images from Flipping Out (in some of my very favorite stripe, polka dot and floral patterns!) and the versatile sentiments enhance that fun and summery vibe. SO cute! And.... I know that's is mid-August, but it is still primetime SUMMER in my mind, so plenty of wonderful 'flip-flop weather' remaining!

Lots of bright, happy colors are mixed in with the simple b/w patterns of my flip-flops, along with a crisp sentiment and a snippet of b/w twine. And there's still room for a short little note on the inside, bottom left corner!

I've used the Flipping Out die to create three cut outs on the card front, stamped through those openings to the inside of the card and then adhered the strap and little embellished flowers for each flip flop on the outside of the card..... creating a bit of interest/dimension. Hopefully, the photos show  this a bit better (because, clearly, I'm having difficulty explaining in words....)!

Many thanks for stopping in today..... hope that you've enjoyed this Throwback Thursday post! Please be sure to take a peek at the Papertrey Ink Blog and the beautifully created Flipping Out creations from Dawn and Lizzie. Have a wonderful day and I will see you again soon!

Papertrey Ink August Release - Day Four!

sentiment staples: Thanksgiving
+frame it out: many blessings
+ Say it simply: Giving thanks die
+ simply Gourd-eous

There's LOTS more Papertrey Ink August inspiration on view today as we present designs from Lizzie Jones (Sentimental Staples: Thanksgiving), Rebecca Luminarias (Frame It Out: Many Blessings collection), Dawn McVey (Say It Simply: Giving Thanks die and Betsy Veldman (Simply Gourd-eous)!

All of the new stamp sets and products will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

Betsy Veldman's Simply Gourd-eous stamps/dies create THE most beautiful pumpkins and gourds! These designs are truly genius..... the layering is beautiful, they line up with ease (I didn't even use my MISTI and the gourd images shown were my very first attempts!) AND are lovely in so many color combinations.

The crisp, clean Vintage Cream creates a simple backdrop for my Fall vignette - with a bit of Rustic Cream twine and Dawn McVey's beautiful new Say It Simply: Giving Thanks die.

My second project uses the new die from Frame It Out: Many Blessings, pretty florals from Stitching Garden and a few lovely sentiments from Sentiment Staples: Thanksgiving.

The versatile Frame It Out: Many Blessings die has beautiful detail, and can be used as is, inlayed with color/colored card stock, as a stencil or as embossed texture. Here, I've fussy cut the interior of the die for a bit of added dimension, creating a surround for my sentiment. A pretty Stitched Garden floral spray, in Harvest Gold, Honey Nut and Pinefeather, frames the Happy Thanksgiving greeting.

Well.... that's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by and helping to celebrate the August countdown. Be sure to hop on over to the Papertrey Ink Blog to check in on Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Kelly, LaurieLizzieMelissa PMelissa B and Stephanie to see a plethora of fabulous creations using the newest Papertrey Ink August products. Papertrey Ink August Release - Day Three!

Words to Live by: Gratitude
+ Text & texture: leaves
+ seasonal borders: Autumn
+ shape shifters: circle 3 die

Yay!! It's Day 3 of Papertrey Ink's August 2018 release and there is much more to share with you! It's a Betsy Veldman kinda day.... with introductions of THREE of Betsy's newest stamp sets  - Words To Live By: Gratitude, Text & Texture: Leaves, Seasonal Borders: Autumn PLUS another fabulous Shape Shifters die to add to your collection - the NEW Circle 3 design!!

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on August 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

Today, I have the pleasure of introducing the newest in the Words To Live By series, which is all about expressions of gratitude, as well as the amazing two-step Text & Texture: Leaves set - just perfect for those fall and/or nature-themed creations.

This Ocean Tides/Weathervane/Pinefeather combination is subtle, yet has nice depth when using both stamp layers, the new Words to Live By: Gratitude stamps/die and a few embellished tags.

My second project highlights some beautiful greens (Green Parakeet/Simply Chartreuse), accented with a bit of gold embossing and twine.

A bit of layering, using the Bold Borders: Diagonal die, a little texture from Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical die and a snippet of vellum help to create this gratitude filled card.

The Text & Texture: Leaves stamps are beautiful.... whether you stamp them separately, or together (in which case you'll have a whole pile of lovely leaves once you start trying to find the 'best' color combinations!).

My last project is a contrast in Pure Poppy and Classic Kraft, using just one of the Text & Texture: Leaves stamps.... such a quick and easy way to create card fronts in a rainbow of colors!

I've added just a little texture.... using the Pierced Feature Frames die, some great twine (another Tuesday Morning buy!) and my favorite polka dot embossing.

The lovely font of the delicate 'gratitude' die is so pretty, and adds just the right bit of additional dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by and helping to celebrate the August countdown! Be sure to hop on over to the Papertrey Ink Blog to check in on Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Laurie, Lizzie, Melissa PMelissa B and Steph to see their fabulous creations using some of the latest and greatest new August Papertrey products. I've created a patterned background on Vintage Cream with some free form Glorious Globes.... using lots of fall inspired colors-Terracotta Tile, Classic Kraft, Simply Chartreuse and Ocean Tides.

There are so many beautiful sentiments included in Rebecca's You Made My Day, so I thought that this one should be the star of the show! A bit of texture from the rustic twine, stitched detail and embossed polka dots adds to the 'natural' feel.

My second project is definitely a bit more feminine - with some lovely florals, the swirly detail of the new Say It Simply: Wishing You A Lovely Birthday die and the beautiful new Scallop Stackers: Small.

I've given the Seasonal Borders: Spring florals a bit of a fall makeover, using Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and Simply Chartreuse. And... the Scallop Stackers: Small creates the perfect base for this lovely birthday greeting!

Papertrey Ink August Release - Day One!

Sentiment staples: Halloween +
CORNER ADORNER: August +
grins & ghouls + a bit More:grins & ghouls
+scared silly

Good morning and welcome to Papertrey Ink's August release- Day 1! Oh.... SO much Halloween-y goodness to share with you, and just wait until you see what the rest of the amazing Papertrey Ink team has created!
Today we have the pleasure of introducing Lizzie Jones' beautiful additions to the Corner Adorner and Sentiment Staples series in Corner Adorner: August and Sentiment Staples: Halloween! And....Heather Nichols has more amazing Halloween designs in the new Ghosts & Ghouls and A Bit More: Ghosts & Ghouls too. And to further compliment your Fall creations, Lexi Daly has designed the clever little monster mash stamp set, Scared Silly!

All of the new stamp sets and products will be available to purchase on August 15th at 10PM ET, on the Papertrey Ink website.

My first project is a study in Halloween simplicity.... lots of bright White, Orange Fizz, black accents and a few perfectly placed, sparkle-y little spiders.

The little spider web fits oh-so-nicely on the Tag Sale: Quilted die and is popped up with a few slivers of dimensional tape (as are the tiny spiders), with the Bitty Big: Orange Fizz stripe as my background.

For my second project, I've created some 'Halloween Memory Match Game' party favors, using the Hinged Gift Card Box to package all of the ghoulish little playing cards. Tied up in True Black Bitty Dot ribbon and accented with a Bloom Builders #3 flower/Ghosts & Ghouls sentiment tag, these make the perfect little party favor!

Oh, such cute presentation in the Bitty Big: Orange Fizz patterned paper......pretty on the outside AND the inside.  Eighteen little cards fit nicely in the Hinged Gift Card box (and make for a challenging game of Halloween Memory Match Game!).

The petite cards are die cut from Stamper's Select White card stock, using the second smallest (3 7/8 x 1 7/8") of the Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical dies and backed with a second layer of Bitty Big: Orange Zest plaid for added stability.

Thank you so much for joining me today! Be sure to check out today's introductory post over on the Papertrey Ink blog and then check in on Amy, Betsy, Dawn, HeatherLaurie, Lizzie, Melissa Phillips, Melissa Bickford, and Stephanie to see how they've used these great new August products. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!
