CAS(E) this Sketch #322

Happy Thursday and welcome back to CTS #322, and another fabulous sketch from Donna Mikasa! Ahhh......such a beautifully versatile design, with some really lovely DT interpretations that we hope will inspire!
I fell in love with Penny Black's Special Friends as soon as I saw Therese Calvird's designs/cards using this adorable set -  most especially the cute little bunny (or is he a hare?). Anyway..... this little critter, some pretty patterned papers from Reverse Confetti, a few Papertrey Ink frames and a lovely mauve-y pink/gray color combination helped to create this sweet birthday card.
We hope that you'll find the time to get creative..... and can't wait to see your addition to the CTS gallery!
P.S. A warm welcome to GD, Mila!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Hedgehog Scooter'

Thanks for joining us for the newest Fusion Card Challenge - 'Hedgehog Scooter'. The amazing inspiration photo is a wonderful starting point. But that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?
The fabulous photo and the great sketch helped with this design. Although I don't have any scooters in my stamping arsenal (how can that be??), I do have this adorable Avery Elle hedgehog, lots of lovely/textured white space, a  bit of petite patterned gingham and the perfect little speech bubble!
The DT has provided some amazing inspiration, so be sure to hop on over and join the party!
When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together!

We hope that you'll join in at the Fusion Card Challenge and will enjoy all of the loveliness from the DT and the always amazing gallery!

PROCEDURES:

1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

Ink to Paper May Release - Day Four

INK TO PAPER MAY RELEASE - DAY 4

59975919_2164259793651634_2868364835999973376_o

Welcome back to the fourth and final day of the new Ink to Paper release!

Today is all about Jennifer Campbell! With four new designs.......the Tag Creations: Blooming Indulgence die set along with the new Just Sentiments, Many Anemones, and Loosely Woven stamp sets, you will surely be in floral heaven with all of the pretty blooms and beautiful sentiments/fonts!

All of the new Ink to Paper items will be available for purchase on May 15th at 10 pm ET!

The versatile Loosely Woven stamp is embossed in white and ink blended in order to create a background for all of the beautiful anemones in shades of Harvest Gold, Pale Peony and Aqua Mist.

The card front is framed using Papertrey's Scallop Stackers: Medium and the Noted: Simply Stitched A2 dies, adding a bit of texture/dimension to this decidedly feminine card. And.... isn't Jennifer's hand lettered sentiment just the prettiest??

Next up is the amazingly detailed Blooming Indulgence, which includes six different layered flowers, two banners, a stitched circular tag and an abundance of fantastic foliage (I think I've counted 12 different leaves in this set!).

I've used just one of the flowers included with Blooming Indulgence (and many of the pretty leaf dies!) to create this Green Parakeet/Berry Sorbet/Sweet Blush card. The crisp 'hello beautiful' sentiment and tiny pearls are the finishing touches!

And, yes, I am still in love with those beautiful Bitty Big patterned papers (here, in Green Parakeet)! It just pops off of the page when combined with crisp white and Berry Sorbet.

Ink to Paper May Release - Day Three

INK TO PAPER MAY RELEASE - DAY 3

59975919_2164259793651634_2868364835999973376_o
Today at Ink to Paper, we are featuring three new creations, World's Best Dad, Rustic Brick and Simply Sweet: You!
Al of the new items will be available for purchase on May 15th at 10pm ET!

This first creation incorporates two new stamp sets, World's Best Dad, by new designer Nancy Messieh AND Kara Yoder's beautiful background stamp, Rustic Brick. World's Best Dad has a plethora of sentiments, in a variety of sizes and fonts, all geared to honor your dad/papa/father/daddy!

I've stamped both layers of Rustic Brick to create a backdrop for the XO Skinny Mini/Keep It Simple tag combo, and the Scarlett Jewel and Classic Kraft palette is just perfect for a unisex/masculine card.

My second card is also decidedly masculine, in shades of Pinefeather, Ocean Tides, Classic Kraft and  Prairie Grass. I've created a frame using the Shape Shifters: Square 2 die and have masked/stamped a plaid pattern with the new Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes.

Lots of Rustic Cream card stock, a little layered mountainside and a bit of sunshine create this 5" square 'full of adventure' card.

For a bit more inspiration, make sure to check out the new Ink to Paper blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with a few more peeks.

Ink to Paper May Release - Day Two

INK TO PAPER MAY RELEASE - DAY 2

59975919_2164259793651634_2868364835999973376_o

Welcome to Day 2 of the Ink to Paper Release Countdown! Today we have three more amazing introductions to share with you....... You Are My Happy, Frame It Out: Wishes and Celebrating You. All three of these new set are full of SO many creative possiblities!!
*All of the new Ink to Paper products will be available on the Ink to Paper website on May 15th at 10pm EST.

My first project incorporates lots of lavender loveliness, courtesy of Melissa Bickford's 'You Are My Happy' stamp and dies. I've just touched the surface of this pretty set, with an amazing combination of sentiments/fonts and beautiful florals and greenery....... plus, that adorable 'HAPPY' die! The new Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes creates the perfect backdrop for this petite pot of posies!

The next new offering, 'Frame It Out', is a fabulous stamp and die collection from Rebecca Luminarias. I absolutely love, love the font of the larger sentiments..... AND the fabulous dies that coordinate with each perfect sentiment, not to mention the beautifully greenery that allows you to create a delicate frame for your image/sentiment.

I've created a trio of tags, highlighting the fabulous die cut sentiments. Clean and simple all the way, and a Classic Kraft, Pure Poppy and B/W combination, these tags are ready to pop on a card front or as an accent on a gift bag.

A few tiny florals, courtesy of the Papertrey Ink Nesting die, offer pops of color. Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops provide a bit of dimension for the flower centers.

The Bitty Big: Classic Kraft patterned paper provides the base for each of my tags, with a snippet of red/white twine as an accent.

And...... last, but certainly not least, is a lovely design from Jennifer Campbell, 'Celebrating You'!
A beautiful array of balloon images (solid, outline and watercolor-like layering) and some amazing sentiments in a variety of fonts.

I was experimenting a bit with masking and ink blending (on a Fresh Snow Linen background) on this Harvest Gold/Green Parakeet/Aqua Mist creation.  The die cut bows, color coordinated sequins and a bit of layering add dimension to an otherwise simple card.

Weathervane accents are a nice compliment to the softer hued balloons/background.

Thanks so much for stopping by (and HAPPY Mother's Day!).
I will be back tomorrow with more peeks!

A New Launch.....'Ink To Paper'!!

INK TO PAPER MAY RELEASE - DAY 1

59975919_2164259793651634_2868364835999973376_o

Oh happy day..... the very first sneak peeks from the new Ink to Paper are coming your way! Ink to Paper is a new brand of Papertrey Ink, with an official launch on the Ink to Paper website on May 15th at 10 pm EST. Ink to Paper will offer new monthly product collections, in addition to many of you favorite Papertrey Ink staples, such as cardstock and inks. Please take a peek at the latest newsletter with more detailed information here.
So, are you ready to get your first look at the brand new Ink to Paper products?  Today we have three new sets to announce......  Nature's Backgrounds, Essential Sentiments, and Watercolor Backgrounds: Brushstrokes.

This first card has an abundance of white and bright, using the lovely Nature's Background, designed by Kara Yoder! With a plethora of beautiful floral and foliage images, there are loads of possibilities with these pretty images and matching dies! I've utilized the back of each of the stamps to create a colorful background and then stamped the outline image in black...... coordinating with the crisp black and white stripes from Bitty Big: True Black and the clean sentiment from another new set, Essential Sentiments.

The next two cards highlight the second new Kara Yoder design for Ink to Paper,  the Essential Sentiments and dies. And..... this is so appropriately titled because I can envision using these sentiments of so many projects and for so many occasions - yup, got 'em all covered. Although this sentiment stamp set was designed to coordinate with Nature's Background Essentials, the sentiments will work well with any design.

The Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes creates a beautiful backdrop for the crisp sentiments, which are framed/layered using the Folded Pocket Tag, Nesting Basics: Rectangles and Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles. In cool shades of Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst and Summer Sunrise, the popped up 'Celebrate'.

For the next card, I've also used another of the Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes stamps as my background, this time a Spring Rain/Blueberry Sky/Aqua Mist/Hawaiian Shores combination.

A sprinkling of sparkle-y jewels gives both cards a bit of added interest, while still being completely clean and simple (and oh so easy to duplicate).

My last two cards use the Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes, from the fabulous Jennifer Campbell! Once you start playing with this set, it's hard to stop...... creating patterns and textures in an array of hues. This Raspberry Fizz/Hibiscus Burst/Summer Sunrise/Green Parakeet combination is just so cheery!

After creating the pretty striped pattern, I cut a few 1/4" strips, added a petite bouquet of florals and foliage, some of my favorite embossed polka dots and a nice crisp sentiment for this 'thinking of you' card, which coordinates beautifully with version #2.

And..... the three new Ink to Paper offerings are just so lovely together! With the Watercolor Textures: Brushstrokes as my background, the pretty posies from Nature's Background Essentials and the clean sentiments form Essential Sentiments, these three sets combine just beautifully.
