The 12 Kits of Occasions - January 2020 'Leftovers'

Happy New Year!! This is our first 12 Kits of Occasions post of the new decade.....so welcome! This month we are changing it up just a bit. There is no inspiring kit photo, or actually, any kit at all. That's because, for the month of January, the crew of the 12 Kits of Occasions will be celebrating with a 'LEFTOVER' month!
Goodness knows that will all the gorgeous kits that we exchange with each other there are frequently  many things that go unused (I almost always save those lovely bits!). SO, this month we are digging through those patterned papers, die cuts and stamped sentiments/images to create some fun new cards.
We are fortunate to have some of our alumni designers playing along with us this month using their leftovers too. However, we are sad to be saying 'goodbye' to a few members of our design team - Lisa Elton, Lindsey Larson and Kara Lynne Pogreba. We hope to see them back again as guest designers...... but, for now, we are bidding them a fond adieu!
P.S. - A happy 'hello' to Kelly Schirmer, a former DT member who will be re-joining us! I am quite excited about this addition as Kelly lives just a few miles down the road (and we enjoy frequent crafty get togethers!). Welcome back, Kelly!!

All of the cards above were created from Jeanne Jachna's May 2019 Kit!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #357

I am SO loving this new sketch from Brian King! There's a plethora of lovely possibilities from the DT (and in my head)..... and hoping that the new CTS #357 inspires you too.
The cute little bird and sentiment from PTI's Petite Pots, perched on a Spring Woods branch, was my starting point (AND a bit of inspiration from Diana ). The pretty aqua ombre background and the center cutout add such pretty detail, and a few pink jewels add the perfect finishing touch to the flowers. I've also created a second card with a solid circular element..... which do you prefer??
We hope that you join in the fun and will be adding your masterpiece to the CAS(E) this Sketch gallery (the InLinkz will close at 9 am EST on Thursday, Feb. 6th)! P.S. - Please welcome GD, Silke!!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Critter'

Welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge - 'Critter'! The amazing inspiration photo is a wonderful starting point. But that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?
The lovely sketch and photo helped to create this bear-y special birthday card. I've created my own daisy bouquet background in shades of yellow/green/brown and layered the cute little bear on the pretty dotted circular frame. The birthday banner is the finishing touch!
The DT has provided some fabulous inspiration, so be sure to hop on over and join the party!
When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

CAS(E) this Sketch #355

Welcome to CAS(E) this Sketch #355 AND another of our throw-back/'Retro' Sketches.... a timeless design by the lovely Sam Simpson. You'll surely find lots of inspiration from the DT, both the 2016 and 2020 versions, so please play along!
Once again, I've interpreted the sketch quite literally - with lots of white space, a crisp frame and lovely sentiment from Papertrey Ink and some pops of yellow/orange (why don't I use these colors more??), courtesy of the pretty posies and greenery from The Stamp Market.
There are so many wonderfully designed creations from the DT, so be sure to take a peek and then JOIN in at CAS(E) this Sketch #355 ((the InLinkz will close at 9 am EST on Thursday, January 23rd)

CAS(E) this Sketch #354

Happy Thursday and welcome to CAS(E) this Sketch #354! Donna Mikasa has designed an incredibly versatile sketch to spark our creativity. We hope that you'll be inspired and will play along!!
I was craving a bit of color and pattern, so here's my version.... lots of periwinkle (my favorite color ink and patterned paper!), a few bright Green Parakeet elements and some orange accents in the petite floral/sentiment, all helping to create this happy little card.
Many thanks for joining us today! We're hoping to see your masterpiece in the CTS gallery (the InLinkz will close at 9 am EST on Thursday, January 16th).
P.S. - A happy hello to our GD, Marcie!!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Winter'

When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.
