CAS(E) this Sketch #370

It's another wonderful sketch from Chrissy Larson for CTS #370, which we hope will spark a bit of happiness (and creativity) during this trying time!!
I wanted to attempt something a little different than my 'usual' and broke out my stencils, ink and blending brushes. I blended the triangular shapes in a lighter blue, and then placed a second stencil on top of that and inked up with a darker hue. I love the CAS look, but accomplishing this without making any inky mistakes was quite the challenge!! A slim black layer, a crisp, die cut sentiment and a few Nuvo drop accents were the finishing touches.
We hope that you'll join in the fun at CTS #370 and will be adding your masterpiece to the gallery...... I can't wait to see how you were inspired by Chrissy's sketch (the InLinkz closes at 9 am EST on Thursday, May 7th). Wishing you a safe and healthy week!!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Thank You'

Happy Thursday, and welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge - 'Thank You'The fabulous inspiration photo is a wonderful starting point. But that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?
I was inspired by the pretty little apples and the 'thank you' theme. And.....although most students are currently learning from home, they may still want to thank their teachers for all that they do!!  The  PTI Big Apple die was my starting point.... along with a some pretty patterns, a great die cut 'thanks' and a simple sentiment. If was so excited about this apple theme that I created two versions!
The DT has provided some wonderful inspiration, so be sure to hop on over and join the party! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

Oh..... and one more, just for good measure!! Gotta love those apples!

We hope that you'll join in at the Fusion Card Challenge and will enjoy all of the loveliness from the DT and the always amazing gallery!

A Special 12 Kits Blog Hop..... In Honor of Sharron

Welcome friends! We have a very special post and Blog Hop, honoring the memory of our dear friend and design team member, Sharron Gregory, who passed away on March 30th. Today, the 12 Kits DT members, past and present, have lovingly created friendship cards to celebrate Sharron's life. We are dedicating today's creations to the generosity, warmth and kindness that Sharron shared always, and in all ways.
May you rest in peace, Sharron, and may many blessings and prayers be bestowed on your family and your many friends/acquaintances!

I've created this card for Sharron, who was an amazing friend to all who were fortunate to know her. She was always incredibly generous in everything that she did..... whether it was a crafty compliment, a lovingly created kit or an additional act of kindness. Her abundant sweetness was just so apparent, and appreciated. ❤️

The 12 Kits of Occasions team did not post on their usual day and time at the end of March, as we all wanted to pay our respects to our oh-so-special teammate, Sharron.
We had prepared an array of 'critter' cards/projects (some of her favorites!) for 3/31  but decided, instead, to postpone.
Below you will see the cards that I'd created for the 12 Kits of Occasions March 2020 posting:

Many thanks for joining us today - and for allowing us to bless and honor our friend, Sharron!

CAS(E) this Sketch #366

Welcome to CAS(E) this Sketch #366! It's another lovely sketch, from Brian King, that we hope will inspire an abundance of creativity!
There were lots of bits and pieces hanging out on my always messy crafting desk, along with this cute little kitty (Sizzix 'Animal Portraits' die, gifted to me from a very generous UK eBay seller, Julie Ryan!!), that helped to create this birthday card..... with lots of pretty corals, my favorite polka dots, a few framed elements and a sprinkling of sparkle-y stars.Nice and bright and HAPPY!
We hope that you'll join in the fun at CTS #366 and will be adding your masterpiece to the gallery...... can't wait to see how you were inspired by Brian's sketch (the InLinkz will close at 9 am EST on Thursday, April 9th)!!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Gnomes'

Happy Thursday, and welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge - 'Gnomes'! The a-dorable inspiration photo is a wonderful starting point. But that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?
Both the photo and the sketch helped to create this pastel-y card. Since I don't have any gnomes in my crafty collection (how is that possible?), I've substituted the petite Papertrey Ink bunnies in shades of Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart and Lavender Moon. A trio of tags (all cut from the Happy Spots patterned paper pack), subtle circular embossing, the perfect little Easter greeting and a touch of Nuvo gloss on those tiny bunny noses were the finishing touches!
The DT has provided some fabulous inspiration, so be sure to hop on over and join the party! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

We hope that you'll join in at the Fusion Card Challenge and will enjoy all of the loveliness from the DT and the always amazing gallery!
