Fusion Card Challenge - 'Poppies'

Happy Thursday..... and welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge, 'Poppies'!! The inspiration photo is quite lovely, with it's soothing floral vignette....but that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you choose as your inspiration?

My project, taking inspiration from the photo, focuses on the creamy shiplap background, the beautifully hued florals (loving the sage/coral/yellow color combo!) and the lovely vintage-y pitcher/watering can.....with just a few teeny tiny pearls for added interest.  A postage frame and the perfect sentiment are the finishing touches on this CAS card.

The DT has created lots of lovelies, so be sure to hop on over and join the party! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

We hope that you'll join in at the Fusion Card Challenge and will enjoy all of the loveliness from the DT and the always amazing gallery!

I am delighted to be joining Waffleflower Design Team member, Jeanne,  and Guest Designer, Karen, in creating for Waffleflower's new weekly challenge! The WEEK 3 challenge focuses on watercolored florals.... which makes me SO very happy, as we are finally begin to see signs of spring in Western NY (I heard the birds chirping this morning)!!

The newest Waffle Flower Challenge begins on Friday, 3/19/21, and runs through Thursday, 3/25/21! For this week's challenge,  Jeanne, Karen and I will be sharing our creations on 3 platforms: Blog, Instagram (#wfc2103w3) and Facebook! Check out the details below:

THE CHALLENGE: to use watercolored florals in your projects!

THREE WAYS TO ENTER the challenge:

Hoping that you'll join in the challenge FUN!! There are A-MAZING rewards!

My take on the  watercolored florals challenge includes an array of pretty posies (it seems that SPRING is finally in the air!!).  I took my CAS card one step further by creating a hand painted plaid background in a soft aqua/teal. The spring-hued blooms and greenery are stamped/embossed in white and watercolored with Distress inks. After a bit of quick fussy cutting, I added a few finishing touches……the pretty enamel dots, stitched rectangle frame and a beautiful ‘Oh happy day’ sentiment.

Please join in!! There are bound to be many lovelies in the Waffleflower Week 3 Challenge gallery (and a plethora of springtime inspiration). We can't wait to see what YOU will create..... it's sure to be a watercolored masterpiece!

ink: Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Scattered Straw (Tim Holtz Distress), Versafine Onyx Black and Watermark inks

My project, taking inspiration from the sketch and the photo, focuses on the soft greens, with a bit of texture/dimension from the balloon bouquet and a few little sparkle-y additions to each balloon.  A strip of patterned paper and a birthday sentiment are the finishing touches on this CAS birthday greeting.

My project, taking inspiration from the sketch and the photo, focuses on the soft pastels, with a bit of texture and sparkle from the diamond-glittered pieced stripes and the fanciful flying unicorn. Fusion Card Challenge - 'Valentine Gnome'

Happy Thursday and welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge, 'Valentine Gnome'!! The cozy inspiration photo is all about the wood tones, gnomes and lovely fonts....but that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you choose as your inspiration?

My project, taking inspiration from the sketch and the photo, focuses on the soft cream/black color combination and texture. And...sadly, there are still no gnomes in the house!  So, I played up the 'white space', adding a stamped gingham background, a bit of texture and dimension using a few embossing patterns, a Rae Dunn-like sentiment and a snippet of black twine.

The DT has created lots of lovelies, so be sure to hop on over and join the party! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

The 12 Kits of Occasions - January 2021

Hello friends!! After a brief hiatus, we are back to business! Tracey McNeely is the hostess with the most-est for the 12 Kits of Occasions January 2021 ''A New Year of Birthdays' kit. The beautifully crisp, clean and colorful ensemble includes some lovely stamped images/sentiments, a-mazing die cuts and celebratory collection of pretty, pretty patterned papers!

I used Kraft card stock as my 'neutral' on all of my cards... as a balance to all of the vibrant hues in the patterned papers and the stamped images. I love that three out of four projects (with the exception of the pink b'day sentiment/sparkle-y cupcake!) are unisex, as I am always scrambling at the last minute when it come masculine birthdays. Lots of lovely papers and die cuts are left over, so you and I will surely be inspired once we see what the DT (and guests) have up their creative sleeves!!

Please be sure to enjoy all that the DT has to share with you!! AND.... as a special bonus, we have some fabulous guest designers joining us this month: Lindsey, Carol Mayne, and Joyce Mehrberg. Many thanks for joining us!

You will find the January 2021 supply list here.

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Flowers'

Happy Thursday and welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge, 'Flowers'!! The light-filled inspiration photo is all about the delicate florals....but that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you choose as your inspiration?

My project, taking inspiration from the sketch and the photo, focuses on the beautiful bouquet and the soft cream/coral/green color combination. I've taken a few liberties with the design and have turned this into a top-folding/vertical card, while still honoring the 'feel' of the sketch. Although I don't have quite as much 'white space' as the  photo, I loved the look of the fabulous flower arrangement.... and have added a bit of texture and dimension using petite pearls, a snippet of twine and a bit of scalloping around the simple sentiment.

Please plan to play along with us at CAS(E) this Sketch #404 - the InLinkz will close at 9 am EST on Thursday, 1/21). I can't wait to see your beautiful creation(s)!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #403

Happy Thursday!! It's time for another CAS(E) this Sketch (WOW, #403!!) and it's a lovely one from the uber talented Donna Mikasa! This week's sketch includes some of my favorite things - stripes and florals. Of course, the DT has some fabulous inspiration, but I can't wait to see your interpretation - it's sure to be amazing!!

My card doesn't stray too far from the sketch, with lots of wonderful white space, bright/happy florals in shades of soft gold, embossed polka dots, a smattering of pretty pearls and a simple sentiment. As always, CAS all the way!

P.S.- Just a little FYI.... CAS(E) this Sketch will be ending it's impressively long run at the end of January 2021 (the very first CTS challenge was in October of 2012!). I joined the DT in September of 2013, so CTS has been a wonderful part of my card making journey and I have been so very honored to 'play cards' with some of the most fabulous and friendly creatives, whom I consider to be the BEST in the biz!

Please JOIN in the fun at CAS(E) this Sketch #403 (the InLinkz will close at 9 AM on Thursday, 1/14)!!
