Throwback Thursday: Craft Brew

THROWBACK THURSDAY: craft brew

Oh happy day....... it's time for Papertrey Ink's Throwback Thursday feature! This week Betsy, Lexi and I are sharing project showcasing the Craft Brew stamps and dies.
If you're anything like me, you're always searching for ways to create for (and celebrate!) the men in your life - and Craft Brew comes to the rescue with a realistic pint of ale, fabulous fonts and sentiments for more than a few occasions (birthdays, thank you, Father's Day, etc.). Gold accents highlight the logo style greeting and horizontal stripes..... and, now, I'm ahead of the game in preparing for Father's Day!

The Honey Nut card base creates a background for the 1" stripes (Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, Simply Chartreuse, Honey Nut, Ripe Avocado), which were then die cut using Noted: Simply Stitched A2.

I've added just a hint of gold (star sequins and embossing) to dress things up a bit!

The snippet of rustic twine helps to highlight the shield-shaped 'Jolly Good Fellow' sentiment, and to contrast with all of the horizontal lines.

Many thanks for stopping in today..... hope that you've enjoyed this Throwback Thursday post! Please be sure to take a peek at the beautiful Craft Brew creations from Betsy and Lexi. Have a wonderful day and I will see you again soon!

Papertrey Ink May Release - Day Five!

corner adorner: May + glorious globes: may +
text & texture: roses + words to live by: courage

All of the new May release items will be available through Papertrey Ink tomorrow, May 15th, at 10 pm ET.

Hello and welcome to the last day of Papertrey Ink’s release week countdown! We hope you have enjoyed all of the sneaks and projects that have been shown. Today we have a gorgeous last few sets to share with you..... Lizzie Jones' beautiful Corner Adorner: May and Glorious Globes: May AND the lovely Text & Texture: Roses and Words to Live By: Courage, both designed by the always fabulous Betsy Veldman!

My first project highlights the lovely Text & Texure: Roses, a gorgeous two-step all-over rose pattern.
This Soft Stone/Sweet Blush palette is quite subtle and creates an almost marble-like appearance. I tried many different combinations, varying the colors, and the order of the colors in the two-step stamping, etc. ..... all with beautiful results.

The pretty little blooms and scalloped frame from Forest Floor: Summer and the texture from Cover Plate: Hexagons adds a little interest behind the Words to Live By: Courage sentiment. And.... some pretty pearls add a bit of dimension.

STAMPS: Text and Texture: Roses, Forest Floor: Summer, Words to Live By: Courage, Cover Up: Hexagons
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Sweet Blush
INK: Sweet Blush, Soft Stone, Spring Moss
DIES: Forest Floor: Summer, Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical, Words to Live By: Courage
OTHER: tiny pearls

Next up..... some bolder colors and textures, with a Weathervane/Hawaiian Shores color combinations and lots of glitter-y black courtesy of the Nuvo glitter embossing powder in Glitter Noir. The pretty butterflies from A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms are also embossed and glittered, with a bit of Hawaiian Shores coloring on the wings.

Only one layer from Text & Texture: Roses was stamped, leaving room for the sentiment and petite butterflies on this 4.5" square card.

STAMPS: Text & Texture: Roses, A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms, Sentiment Staples: Birthday
PAPER: Weathervane, Hawaiian Shores, Stamper's Select White, Fresh Snow Linen, True Black
INK: Versafine Onyx, Versafine Watermark
DIES: Bold Borders: Flare
OTHER: Nuvo embossing powder (Glitter Noir)

Card #3 highlights just one of the lovely sentiment combinations from Words to Live By: Courage. The saturated colors (Pure Poppy/Cocoa Bean) work well on the Classic Kraft base, allowing you to focus on the sentiment and soft leaf-y die.

Lots of pretty color combinations can be created on Classic Kraft using the bolder colors, as a single stamp or as a two-step process.  Each varying combination is a chance to create a new look..... and there are more than a few lovelies on my craft desk to prove it!

forest floor: summer +
seasonal borders: summer +
noted: pinked a2 vertical

Yay..... it's Day 3 of Papertrey Ink's May 2018 release and there is much more to share with you!
The introductions begin with Dawn McVey's newest Cover Up design: Hexagons. In addition, Lizzie Jones presents her newest in the Forest Floor series, with beautiful flowering botanicals and a pretty scalloped frame..... all with coordinating dies. And Betsy Veldman adds another Seasonal Borders: Summer collection AND the oh-so-versatile Noted: Pinked A2 Vertical dies!

All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on May 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

My first card highlights the new Forest Floor: Summer images, with some pretty Queen Anne's Lace in Prairie Grass and Dark Indigo. The pretty scalloped frame surrounds the 'celebrate' sentiment, with a bit of the Cover Up: Hexagon in the background.

The Bitty Big: Dark Indigo serves as a backdrop for this rustic-y Prairie Grass/Dark Indigo/Classic Kraft combination. A snippet of chunky twine finishes things off.

This next trio highlights the new Seasonal Borders: Summer stamp set and coordinating dies. Clearly, I may have gotten a bit carried away...... all the while stamping more and more of the lovely hibiscus.

Papertrey Ink May Release - Day Two!

Introducing Sweet Treats +
big ice cream cone die + bold borders: shine

Welcome to Papertrey Ink's May 2018 Release - Day 2! There are LOTS more amazing new Papertrey goodies to sneak peek..... including Heather Nichol's Sweet Treats stamps/dies AND the a-mazing Big Ice Cream Cone die. Additional new goodies include Lizzie Jones' newest Bold Borders: Shine, Betsy Veldman's latest Shape Shifter: Circle 2 AND a new Hashtag Everything collection from the talented Lexi Daly!
All of the new stamp sets and products will be available to purchase on May 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

The Big Ice Cream Cone dies are just THE cutes thing ever..... such great detail-in the stitching on that cute ice cream scoop and the realistic crosshatch texture of your sugar cone! And the new Bold Border: Shine die creates the perfect background for this 'Celebrate' banner.

This rainbow of ice cream cones would be great for any celebration.  I must say.... it was a challenge to get a good shot of this entire banner (which measures about 4' in length), but, hopefully, you get the idea! This ice cream cone die is such a great size, just a little over 5"... or more with extra scoops!), and would make a great party invitation/favor/decoration. Adorable-ness all the way around!

Lots of color here (and a bit of a die cutting workout!)..... Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Orange Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold, Green Parakeet, New Leaf and Hawaiian Shores. Stamper's Select White helped to make a nice sturdy backing for the Bold Borders: Shine die cuts. I invaded my stash for the rainbow of enamel dots, some black Thickers to spell out 'Celebrate' and a few miscellaneous eyelets. Wow.... I had all of the crafting tools out!!

I hope that you've enjoyed today's post! Be sure to take a peek at the Papertrey Ink Blog and view additional creative loveliness from Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Laurie, Lizzie, Melissa B, Melissa P, and Stephanie! Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!
