Fusion Card Challenge - 'Pink Phone'

Welcome to the newest Fusion Card Challenge - 'Pink Phone'. The amazing inspiration photo is a wonderful starting point. But that sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try??
Both the lovely photo and the fabulous sketch  have helped to create this card. I was inspired by the vintage-y phone, petite florals and the pink/black combination. Isn't the little retro telephone die from Frantic Stamper just the cutest?
And...the DT has provided some amazing inspiration! SO, be sure to HOP on over and join the party.
When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together!

We hope that you'll join in at the Fusion Card Challenge and will enjoy all of the loveliness from the DT and the always amazing gallery!

PROCEDURES:

1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.

A few bright, citrus-y colors, lots of white and the perfect sentiments and images from The Stamp Market's Birthday Wishes help to create this incredibly CAS celebratory birthday card. Oh.... and I couldn't forget my favorite polka dots!
We hope that you will be inspired by the sketch, the gallery and/or the DT creations and will play along with us at CAS(E) this Sketch #268!

Many thanks for taking a peek... have a great day everyone!!

Papertrey Ink - Transformation Tuesday!

papertrey Ink's transformation tuesday!
Happy Tuesday and welcome to my very first Transformation Tuesday post! In case you've missed it, this is a relatively new Papertrey Ink feature that encourages us (and you!) to pull out those cards that didn’t necessarily turn out the way we had envisioned and give them a second try. The idea is to show a project transformed into something fresh and new. Here's the card I'm transforming today (and HERE's the original post):

Despite being fairly happy with my original card (which was inspired by/CASE-d Kristina Werner's beautiful design), and kind of liking the gray/yellow color combination, I was never completely satisfied with how it turned out and I felt that the card base was just a bit too dark. So.....a few changes were made to lighten up the new, and more feminine, card. Let's take a peek!

The same elements are still there (trio of 'candles', banner sentiment, die cut word, scallop), but this updated version has a bit more detail...... with lots of Vintage Cream, a pretty aqua/coral-y pink color combination and a hint of sparkle-y gold.

Oh, how I love me a good Target Dollar Spot, where I found these pretty, sparkled up (and polka dotted!) straws that were just begging to be used in a paper crafting project!

Many thanks for joining me today! And.... don't forget, you can play along too. Just link up your Transformation Tuesday project over on the Papertrey Ink Blog for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate for the Papertrey Ink Store! Have a great day, everyone!

Papertrey Ink April Release - Day Five

simple impressions: celebrations kitthe new gray color name announcement!
All of the April release items will be available through Papertrey Ink tomorrow, April 15th, at 10 pm ET.

Today Papertrey Ink is introducing a very exciting Make It Market Mini Kit from Betsy Veldman. The Simple Impressions: Celebrations kit includes everything a novice stamper needs to hit the ground running! It has all the basic necessities in one place so you can introduce your friends to this hobby we all love and make a genuine connection through crafting. It makes a wonderful gift for someone who has perhaps expressed an interest, but been afraid to take the plunge.
This kit is also perfect for busy stampers on the go who want to be able to grab a collection of supplies to take along on a trip, to a crafty get-together, or whenever you’d like to stay active away from home. You can easily create lots of cards for the most popular occasions – birthdays, graduations, babies, weddings, anniversaries. The stamp set and coordinating die collection will also be available separately.

My first card is created from the basic kit ingredients: floral stamps, birthday greeting, pre-printed (and perfectly A2 sized!) patterned paper, a few strategically placed sequins and ALL of the kit's ink colors (Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Green Parakeet and Aqua Mist + True Black).

The classic white envelope can be fancied up...... with your card/occasion/recipient in mind!

My second card incorporates the coordinating Celebrations Kit dies, which are available separately. The cute Pure Poppy/Berry Sorbet candles make the perfect little shaker card, using the kit's sequins, a seam binding bow and a single floral button.  The Tag Sale #10 die is a nice addition and fits perfectly into the pinked rectangle of the Celebrations Kit patterned papers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and helping to celebrate the April countdown! Be sure to check in on AmyBetsy, Dawn, HeatherKeewayLaurieLizzieMelissaStephanieLexie and Melissa B over at the Papertrey Ink BLOG to see their fabulous creations using these great new April Papertrey products.

+dapper chap + shape up: tuxedo gift card die
+ plaid stencils

Yes...... we are in the home stretch and you've seen almost all of the fabulous new April 2018 products from Papertrey Ink! There's LOTS more inspiration on view today as we present Betsy Veldman's Words To Live By: Work stamps/dies,  as well as the newest Corner Adorner design, Dapper Chap,  the a-mazing Shape Up: Tuxedo Gift Card die and some plaid stencils,  all by Lizzie Jones. Oh, and another fabulous Shape Shifters die, Shape Shifters: Square 1!

Today I have the pleasure of creating with  Corner Adorner: April, Words To Live By: Work and Shape Shifters; Square 1!

All of the new stamp sets and products will be available to purchase on April 15th, 10PM ET, at Papertrey Ink.

Ahhh.... lots of pretty spring colors in a Fresh Snow linen/Pale Peony/Berry Sorbet/Simply Chartreuse combination for this first project. Those pretty blooms are from another new set, Botanical Bounty, along with a few blooms from last month's Stitching Garden.

The lovely Shape Shifters: Square 1 die is backed with a layer of vellum to soften the look of this pretty floral vignette.  Although a bit hard to see, each of the little floral trios has a tiny jewel center, adding an element of sparkle and dimension.

And, just a bit more from the new Noted: Simply Stitched A1 Vertical dies to accentuate the stitched square frame from Shape Shifter: Square 1.

My second project is decidedly more masculine, incorporating another of the new Bitty Big colors, stamps and dies from the new Words to Live By: Work and the new Shape Shifters: Square 1.

Lots of layering goin' on here in this Smokey Shadow/Scarlet Jewel color combination and just a snippet of twine to bring your focus in on the little sentiment banner.

And, lastly, a few pretty sentiment combinations from Words To Live By: Work on both a card and coordinating tag.

Here you see another of the newest Bitty Big colors, and the new Words To Live By stamps/dies in combination with a few of the new Fence Line: Spring stamps and the new Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical/Shape Shifter: Square 1 dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by and helping to celebrate the April countdown! Be sure to hop on over to the Papertrey Ink Blog to check in on Betsy, Dawn, HeatherKeewayLaurieLizzieMelissaStephanie and Melissa B to see their fabulous creations using these great new April Papertrey products. Papertrey Ink MIM #318

Make it monday #318:
'simple stitched stems'

I'm over on the Papertrey Ink Blog with my very first Make It Monday video (....please forgive my nervous bumbling)! Hopefully, you will be inspired to add a bit of simple stitching to your cards! To create this Mother's Day project, I've used a piercing mat/guide that's been in my stash forever, although a piece of fun foam and a ruler would achieve the very same goal. And.... those stems certainly don't need to be straight. A petite, free-form bouquet would be so pretty!

This 'simple stitching' inspired a few more creations:

Love this Pure Poppy/ Green Parakeet color combination with my favorite polka dots!

The Amethyst Allure stripes are so pretty with the Tropical Teal leaves/stitching and Royal Velvet die cut flowers.

Many thanks for joining me today! I hope that you'll have time to play along with Make It Monday #318......  where there's a $25 Papertrey Ink gift certificate up for grabs!!
