PTI January 2012 Blog Hop

Oh my goodness....... where does the time go? I so totally forgot about this month's PTI Blog Hop, but wanted to participate anyway as there is always so much creative energy! The January challenge is to re-create an older favorite. I really love the Quatrefoil die and what can be done with it in such short amount of time, while creating some lovely dimension and contrast. So.... here is my attempt at V. 2! Thanks so much for taking a peek!
P.S. I thought that I'd also enter my V. 2 card in the Moxie Fab Die Cutting Challenge!

What to do with FREE cardstock?

So..... xpedx is my favorite place to purchase envelopes and when I'm there I always check out the "free" bin at the back of the store. Usually, I find something that can be be made into a card, tag, etc. And I knew that I should've picked up those mini gum ball machines with the xpedx logo and turned them into a cute Valentine gift!
Anyway, I got a good amount of lovely, textured cream card stock, which was already cut into 3 X 8 1/2 strips. When folded, it made a nice little card, but I wanted this to fit into an 4-bar envelope a bit better, so cut some 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 pieces of Smokey Shadow as a base. Now it fits perfectly into the envelope and makes for a nice little gift-y card set for my neighbor!

CAS-ual Fridays- CFC #35: Highs and Lows

The CAS-ual Friday challenge is to create a project with scallops.
I have used my new-to-me Memory Box Charlotte border die cut, which creates a nice eyelet-y scallop....
so feminine and pretty.
I guess that I'm still stuck on the colors that have been on my work table, cause here is another card with pinks, greens and corals!

CASE study Challenge #73

This is my very first  CASEstudy challenge- love the phenomenal contributors and amazing creative inspiration!
I used lots of A Muse Studio shimmering damask card stock (just lovely!) and a few more letters from my PTI Block Alphabet die set with this white on white design (one plain, one glittered). There's a bit of dimension in this card which is a little difficult to appreciate.

Papertrey MIM #48: Creating Backgrounds with Border Dies

Yikes! It's been sooooo long since my last post....... guess that I just need to jump right back in ASAP!

The PTI challenge is to use border dies as a background and there are so many creative options. I took my cue from Amber Draigre's post on Ella Publishing and loved the idea of the monogram cards, which make terrific little gifts for family and friends.

I used the negative portion of the PTI Victorian Lace border die and the "m" die cut from Block Alphabet (in addtion to a few Spellbinder dies and lots of PTI card stock).

Thanks for taking a peek at my long overdue creations!
