Hello friends!! Marybeth Lopez is the hostess with the most-est for the 12 Kits of Occasions August 2020 'Simple Leaves' kit. The beautifully crisp, clean and colorful ensemble includes some lovely stamped images (gah... The Greetery's Petite Eucalyptus!), fabulous embossed sunflowers and chrysanthemums, a-mazing die cuts and a pastel-y array of pretty, pretty patterned papers!

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Dragonfly'

 

GAH..... late again to the Fusion Card Challenge 'Dragonfly' party. But....isn't this just a gorgeous photo?? That sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?

I was inspired by the beautiful colors of the photo AND the great sketch (which I've taken a few liberties with!)in creating this 4.5" square card. Clearly, I've approached this in a very CAS style, with a stenciled ombre background, a crisp sentiment and a petite butterfly as my dragonfly stand-in. And, how is it that I do not have one dragonfly in my arsenal??. I was truly challenged by this sketch/photo, and felt that I could not get the right 'feel'. Thus, more than a few versions (see #2 below) were created.

However, the DT has provided some amazing inspiration, so be sure to hop on over and join the party! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo as you jumping off point. OR, if you are feeling super duper clever, you can fuse 'em together.

CAS(E) this Sketch #387

Happy Thursday! Welcome to the newest sketch for CTS #387, another beautiful design by Donna Mikasa. Be sure to check out the DT creations, and then add yours to the lovely Case the Sketch gallery!

It's a bit more of that summer-y feel, with bright yellows and greens and a lotta sparkle, courtesy of a sprinkle of chunky glitter and a subtle band of yellow glitter paper behind the pretty trio of lemons and simple sentiment banner.

And.... lately, I've been a little obsessed with lining my envelopes with coordinating patterned papers, which adds a great finishing touch (and provides a little extra 'padding' for any delicate card dimension). I add a blank sheet inside the card, finish the back with my 'made by' stamp, put the card and envelope into a clear cello envelope and add to my stash. Voila!

CAS(E) this Sketch #385

Happy Thursday and welcome to CTS #385! Chrissy has created a lovely sketch to inspire. SO, have a peek and then get busy.... because we can't wait to see your masterpiece in the CTS gallery!

I've fashioned this card with a few colors that I really should reach for more often. Doesn't this yellow/green/orange combo make such a happy, summer-y thank you?!! I've substituted a floral for the star, and changed up the sentiment, but the core design remains. I love, love the pretty bloom from Papertrey's Painted Petals and have accented that with a few textured frames, the lovely striped yellow/white background, a bold sentiment and few sparkle-y additions to the center of the flower.

Fusion Card Challenge - 'Fruit'

So sorry for being a bit tardy to the newest Fusion Card Challenge party, 'Fruit'. But....isn't this just the most berrylicious photo?? That sketch is pretty great too! So, which will you try?

I was inspired by the beautiful fruits of the photo AND the great sketch (which I've taken a few liberties with!). I stamped and die cut the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and some lovely greenery, which were all positioned on a perfect little tag. Some lovely reds, a pretty blue patterned paper, a snippet of cream twine and my favorite embossed polka dots were the finishing touches!

Hey there...... it's time (well, a bit past time!) for another great sketch from Donna Mikasa for CAS(E) this Sketch #383! There are lots of pretties from the DT, so take a peek and then break out those crafty bits and get creating!!

I was inspired not only by the sketch, but also this happy card from Kim AND the beautiful stamps/dies from The Greenery! There's just a hint of the panels/shapes, courtesy of a stitched square die and the petite banner, allowing the colorful pinwheels and streamers to take center stage. A few clear sparkle-y sequins and enamel dots were the finishing touches.

Welcome to CTS #382..... and another super clever sketch by N@Ali! Don't you just love that little toucan??
I have a little collection of birdies (from Papertrey Ink's Petite Pots) that were just waiting for a suitable project and substitute quite nicely for the sketch's tropical bird! The Soft Stone/Pale Peony/Aqua Mist combination is one of my favorites. I've popped everything up with a bit of dimensional tape and added a few sparkle-y jewels to this little  4" square card.
